Theriot Vs. DeWitt Since the Trade

For those of you who were upset at seeing Theriot go, here are the side by side stats for Theriot and DeWitt since the trade. Keep in mind that Theriot will be 31 in December and DeWitt just turned 25 last month and Theriot is on a better team now.

I still love this trade. DeWitt just needs to stop striking out and get that on-base percentage up. I would also like to point out that DeWitt has those four homeruns in 34 games. Ryan Theriot has two homeruns for the whole 2010 season.

  2. DeWitt definitely has more pop. I think he could hit 12-15 home runs a year. Not too shabby. Somehow Theriot has walked 13 times since the trade. That has to be an aberration. The key here is- even though Theriot has a higher average and OBP, DeWitt has a better OPS. I think that gap will widen as time goes on. DeWitt only has one more extra base hit than Theriot- that will increase as well.
